Hi, my name is Chris I am currently 31 years old. I have been gaming since I was 6. My first big love in gaming was a little title called Elite on the School's BBC Micro Computer, which was anything but Micro in size.
Over the years I have found myself become more of a portable gamer. Although I own all current platforms I find myself a little lost without a SEGA platform to call home :( SEGA Saturn is my favourite console of all time.
I have worked in the development side of the industry with studios in Cambridge(I am not one for name dropping). But became rather jaded and now work in 3D graphic rendering.
I prefer to play JRPGs, beat'em ups and arcade racers, but I do play anything and everything given the chance.
Anyway, I started this site for gamers who, like me, are the wrong side of 30 and want to hear from gamers of the same age group.

Name: Kevin AKA Sumthin Fishy
A middle aged gamer of varied tastes, or possibly no taste depending on your point of view, fishy has been a gamer since stumbling upon his Dads Binatone some time in the late 70's (finally he wasn't the only pong in the house).
Fishy's first "gaming" system was a ZX81, moving quickly onto a Vic 20 and beyond (via hand me downs from his cousins.. hand me dows meaning something in those days). Fishy's gaming life mostly started by buying gaming mags to type in games; the need to get the bloody things working started Fishy's life as a programmer (something fishy never really forgave gaming for).
These days Fishy can be found variously enjoying, or grumbling about whatever games he fancies on whatever system he fancies and spending far more cash than he'd like in the process.. humbug.

My name is Mark and I've been gaming off and on since 1979. It started off when I was 7 years old and I saw a Space Invaders cab in the local chip shop, I stood on a stool to see the screen and was blown away! Soon afterwards I got an Atari 2600 as a gift and the rest is history. I've missed out on certain generations (e.g. Master System/NES) as real life got in the way, but returned in earnest during the Saturn and Playstation.
I also like travelling which probably comes down to my wife who is Australian. This means that I managed to visit Japan and experience the arcade/gaming culture over there. It was amazing!
Favourite genres of games would be Western RPG's, shmups and First Person Shooters.
Name: Neil
Hi, I’m Neil and I’ve been playing games since I was about
7. I’m 33 at the moment so that’s some amount of hours I’ve racked up. I
wonder if there’s an achievement for that.
My very first experience of gaming was on a version of Pong
at a school fair. Being handed the controller, I remember muttering “But I don’t
know what to do.......”. 15 minutes later and they had to pry it out of my
grubby little mits to let the other sugar-fuelled youths have a shot. From that
day, a love affair was born.
A Commodore Vic20 and an Acorn were my first home units and,
apart from a few goes on a friend’s Spectrum and Amiga 500, that was pretty
much me until I saved-up to buy an NES when I was 13. I’d have to say that I
was very much on Mario’s side in the legendary Nintendo/Sega turf war, leading
me to buy a SNES, N64 and Gamecube without even a glance at the competition.
Common sense finally took over in 2003 when I branched out to ‘the dark side’
and bought my very first non-Nintendo console in an Xbox. This opened me up to
the joys of multi-platform gaming and I haven’t looked back.
I love pretty much all game types but will always have a
special place for the platformer. I can also occasionally be found stuck in a 3
hour+ session on the latest JRPG offering from SquareEnix (at least 2 hours of
which will have been cut scenes).
